How Each Chronotype Can Optimize Their Sleep & Energy Levels
Breus tells mbg that there is a simple formula that can help you figure out the best bedtime for you. Bear types in this case usually get five full (90-minute) sleep cycles in one night and like to wake up around 7:00 a.m.
So, explains Breus, five sleep cycles add up to 450 minutes, plus the roughly 20 minutes it takes to fall asleep. That's 470 minutes, subtracted from 7:00 a.m., which gives you an optimal bedtime at 11:10 p.m.
Aside from going to bed at the optimal bedtime, Breus mbg previously explained that bear species tend to interact with the sun, waking up and going to bed relatively early. This makes them most productive in the morning, so they would do well not to schedule major afternoon tasks when they might break in at noon.
