Now, one day fasting is also a way to detox, look and feel better. If the fast is done correctly, it can produce better results. If not, it can lead to health problems.
Fasting and not fasting
NOT: Forget to hydrate
It is important to make sure that you are drinking enough water each day while you are fasting. We don't think about the amount of water that is in the foods we eat. "It's important." So how do you know if you are getting what you need? “Just check your urine. It should be light. If it's the color of straw or lemonade, or lighter, you are likely adequately hydrated. Otherwise drink.
DO: Make sure you are fit for fast
First of all, you should consider whether or not you can start fasting, as not everyone can. Not everyone should start fasting. Those who should not consider fasting include pregnant or breastfeeding women, diabetics, children under the age of 18, and those with underlying medical problems. Additionally, anyone taking prescription drugs should avoid fasting to avoid unpredictable reactions. If you can't absorb quickly, there is a transition option that allows whole foods to be consumed in their most natural state, eliminating rich, sugary, fatty, or highly processed foods.
NOT: forget to tell your doctor
If you have any health concerns related to fasting, check with your doctor before starting. Even if you do not have any health concerns, it is better to consult a doctor before fasting. If fasting only longs for a day, then this step can be ignored for healthy people. However, if the fast continues for a few days, it is necessary to consult your doctor.
DO: Prepare your mind, body, and home
Before fasting, make sure you are rested and emotionally prepared. Thinking about your intention and how you want to achieve it can help you a lot. It is really important to be clear about what you want. It's just not a good time to put your house in order. Take care of your kitchen when there are tempting foods that could destroy your fasting goals.
NOT: Treat yourself to a "last supper".
Avoid indulging in one final feast before you fast, says nutritionist and wellness expert. The night before, a meal of lean protein, healthy fat, and plenty of vegetables is the best thing to do before you fast. You could also have starch like sweet potato or legumes. When you add fruit to your meal, you also get natural sugars that can help calm your hormones. Try low glycemic fruits like berries. This type of full meal gives your body plenty of slow burning food to carry you through your fasting period as far as possible.
DO: Find fun distractions
OK, maybe you can't eat chocolate or drink wine while fasting. That doesn't mean you can't indulge in other things. Treat yourself to a massage or mani-pedi, or stroll the mall and do a little window shopping for all the new clothes to wear when you succeed with your new healthy weight loss plan. But please stay away from the grocery store so it can be difficult to resist.
NOT: go to burn
Light exercise is fine, but it's best to avoid things like high-intensity cardiovascular exercise, especially if you're not used to it. You could go for passive activities like acupuncture or massage. Massage increases blood flow to the fat areas of the body and can reduce cortisol, a hormone that stores fat and can break down muscle. The goal is not to burn muscle for fuel while fasting,
NOT: Take the stress out!
Take a rest. According to The Journal of Physiology, stress can increase your levels of cortisol, a hormone that stores fat and breaks down muscle. So, if you want to make sure that your fasting produces the most efficient weight loss, try combining it with stress relief techniques like yoga, deep breathing, or meditation. If you do choose to keep calm through exercise, make sure it isn't too strenuous, after all, you are fasting and need to reserve your energy to function comfortably throughout the day.
NOT: Eating too much after fasting
When you break your fast, you'll be in the mood for all of your favorite and tempting dishes. But do not eat heavy and spicy foods once you break your fast. Start with lighter snacks as your digestive system slowly and steadily adapts to the change. So eat light meals every 2 hours.
Hope you enjoy it and take these points into account when fasting. Happy fasting 🙂
