Simple (10 minute) waffle salmon cake
I made these waffle crab cakes a few years ago and thought I'd try swapping them out for salmon. I also wanted to try them out on my Mini Dash Waffle Maker (Affil Link). I made four small salmon cakes, but you can make them bigger if you have a bigger waffle iron. I love how extra crispy they get with all this surface. These healthy salmon cakes are an excellent way to help maintain your omega-3 fatty acids, which can lower your risk of heart disease. They're also high in protein and low in carbohydrates. If you want to make these salmon cakes gluten free, use gluten free panko.
How do you make salmon cake from scratch?
These salmon cakes are not called "easy" for nothing! Simply mix the seven ingredients in a bowl, place a quarter cup of the mixture on the link to the waffle iron, and cook for about three to four minutes. As I said – easy!
You can also double or triple this waffle salmon cake recipe if you need to feed more people or want leftovers. Simply put the waffles in the toaster to warm up.
No waffle maker? Do them on one frying panapprox. 3 minutes per side. Or Air fry they 400F 6 to 8 minutes.
How to serve salmon cake
There are several ways to serve these salmon cake waffles:
- Over mixed greens or spinach with lemon juice or tartar sauce as a dressing
- As a sandwich on a potato roll
- As a main course with vegetables on the side
If you want to add a sauce, these salmon patties with a simple tartar sauce are delicious. To make it, combine light mayo, lemon juice, and capers and serve over the salmon.
