“Fried” Oreos (Made Lighter) – .

These quick and easy “fried” egg white pancake batter and oreo thins are the perfect treat when you're craving something sweet!

"Fried" Oreos

I'm not a fan of oreos, but I'm a sucker for fried oreos – the kind they sell at street fairs. There is nothing healthy about them, but they are so good! I tried making my own lighter version at home using Protein Pancake Mix and Oreo Thins. For more chocolatey treats, try my Fudgy Flourless Crinkle Brownie Cookies and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Bark.

Fried oreo is thinner and stacked on a plate.

I tested these Oreos in the air fryer but they were so messed up. So I thought to myself, why don't you make them on a pan like you do when you make pancakes? They came out great! These healthier fried oreo are the best little treat when you're craving something sweet.

What are the ingredients for fried oreo?

The ingredients for making "fried" oreo are pretty simple. You need the following:

  • Pancake mix: I used Birch Benders Protein Pancake Mix for extra nutrition, but you can use any "just add water" pancake mix.
  • water: Add six tablespoons of water to the pancake mixture.
  • Vanilla extract: Vanilla extract is great for adding a little more sweetness.
  • Oreos: I used Oreo Thins because they are lighter than original Oreos. One Thin has 35 calories and 5.25 grams of carbohydrates compared to 53 calories and 8.3 grams of carbohydrates for an original Oreo.
  • powdered sugar: I sprinkle powdered sugar (also known as powdered sugar) over the finished product to make it look so pretty and taste sweeter.
