Hello everybody!

I'm here to share the benefits of a very popular spice in India – and that's our good old ginger. I am sure that there is no such cuisine in India that does not use ginger. Be it Rajma or Upma ginger is always used. The pronounced taste of this spice not only gives the food pizzazz, but also improves the quality of the food.

  4. It is also a natural pain reliever.

  6. It is also known to actively participate in cancer prevention.
  7. Ginger is known to have antibiotic effects.

No wonder our mothers fill the kitchen with ginger! Ginger, when consumed in the right amounts and in the right way, can prove to be a blessing for us. At this point I would like to share some ginger culinary delights that are my personal favorite.

  • Ginger lemon drink– Grate ginger (a small piece) and extract the juice. Add water and add half a lemon. Add sugar and a pinch of salt to taste. Serve chilled, preferably with crushed ice!

  • Pickled ginger This reminds me of the pink pickled ginger that comes with sushi, which is kind of sweet, but I like the Indian version of it (which my mom makes). Cut the peeled ginger into wide sticks and squeeze out enough lemon juice. Add salt to taste (you would need plenty of this !!) and green cool pieces too if you like. Keep it under the sun for two days. Voila! It is ready. However, you cannot save this for a long time. So make sure you make small amounts of it. It literally makes me drool. I just can't resist this cucumber. But be in control of your feelings as they contain a lot of salt 🙂

  • Ginger tea- Grate a little ginger and add it to the boiling water. Add tea dust / leaves. Add milk and let it boil. Now strain the tea and add sugar to taste. This is my version of "adrak wali chai" and believe me, it tastes really good. I'm not much of a tea person, but when it comes to ginger tea, I definitely take a sip or two.
