What are negative calorie foods?

The foods that burn more calories during processing and digestion than the number of calories they contain are known as negative calorie foods. Let me explain –

Lose weight with low calorie foods

10-15% of the calories we get from the foods we eat are used in the digestive process. The body needs energy to break down these foods and absorb nutrients such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, etc. that are found in food. Where does its energy come from? Simple answer – from the food we eat.

There are certain foods that require a lot of energy (calories) to be broken down and absorbed. If these foods are low in calories, where would the body get energy to digest them? In this case, the body is forced to use the stored fat to digest food.

When you eat foods with negative calories, you create a calorie deficit that can help you lose weight. Does that mean you could burn more calories eating a chocolate followed by a cucumber? Not really. It's the other way around. Eat cucumber first so there is little room for chocolate.

I knew few foods with negative calories, but have seen a lot recently. These foods will help you make better decisions about what to include and avoid in your diet.
