Meals Steamer For Weight Loss / Wholesome Cooking

A few years ago when I was trying to lose weight and develop healthy eating habits, I invested in one Steamer for healthy cooking that has proven to be a blessing for me. Steaming food not only speeds up the cooking of food, it is also one of the healthiest and most nutritious ways to cook healthily. There were times when our grandmothers could easily fry vegetables, etc. for quick wok cooking. Times changed and our eating habits got better with less activity.

Let me share what my lunch and dinner generally consist of. I like a cup of sauteed vegetables for main meals which is my lunch and dinner. Fortunately, this steamer makes my job so easy. Not only does this add variety to my simple healthy meals, it also makes coking easier. Steaming the food in the steamer saves a lot of nutrients when cooking, which are usually lost when the water comes into contact. Food never comes into contact with water when using a steamer. The cell structure of the food tissue remains the same during steaming.

If you don't want to add a lot of oil to your diet, the steamer can be one of the best ways to do it. Just steam carrots, broccoli, potatoes, fish, chicken, dumplings, etc. and sauté the ingredients in a teaspoon of oil. Believe me, food tastes good and looks better with a little oil.

For example – I make a simple carrot salad where I steam 2 carrots in the steamer. In the meantime, I dice an onion, 1-2 green chillies and 1 tomato. Once the carrots are done, which takes about 10 minutes, I cut them into small cubes and add all the diced ingredients. Season with salt and pepper and add lemon juice. Voila! They have carrot salad ready for you right away, which tastes good.

Similar! Suppose my husband wanted to eat pasta. While the pasta was cooking, I was steaming carrots, broccoli, and some cauliflower that I would never have put in my pasta if it weren't for that steamer.

Health in two steps

  • Chop the steamed vegetables
  • Throw them in the pasta sauce.

My husband makes crib for adding so many veggies but he doesn't mind with pasta.

There are many other ways that you can use this steamer and eat foods that look fresh instead of being overcooked and also preserving their nutrients.

In the days ahead, I'm going to share some quick recipes with you that the steamer has come in very handy.
