My Dog-My Weight Loss Partner
My dog - my weight loss partner
A tribute to my fur baby.
Reposting as a tribute to my baby who left us for heaven today.
I am a mother of three children; A son and daughter who are my biological children and an adopted daughter who is a Black Labrador. The biological ones have grown up and independent enough to lead their own daily lives, but the third, I really doubt, will ever grow up.
He is the most spoiled baby of mine, which leads to violent arguments with my daughter when I don't listen to what she has to say, but seem to worry more about his "Sussu – potty and meal times". LOL I'm not ashamed to admit that he is the best part of my life, listening to me, following my directions without answering, making me feel important and being my "feel good factor". Looking back on my weight loss journey, I find that although I started everything by being motivated by my daughter, my son was gifted and suggested weight loss apps and gadgets from my son, but my third & # 39; cherub & # 39; # 39; (meaning, little angel) had always done was the one who helped me in various ways on this journey.
Well, everyone who reads this and thinks, “OMG! Poor woman, age is catching up with you really quickly. See what she's talking about now … Crazy old woman getting shaky. “😉 To all of you who let your thought process wander in this direction, I would like to say that I'm getting older every day (although I refuse to accept it), might sound crazy at times (it's because of my dancing hormones), but what I am saying here are all facts and I am 100% in my full senses. LOL
Research shows that people who start weight loss programs with supportive friends do better. What if that "supportive friend" turns out to be a four-legged furry friend named Dog? And here I testify that dogs can be better running partners than your best friends or even your family. My pet had supported me on two main fronts:
Let me start with the first:
This is a fact of my life that when I become aware of something I think about it in all directions. I started thinking about weight loss for everyone and was once commented by my kids, “Mom, what do you think of that big round pumpkin? Any Weight Loss Suggestions For That Round Watermelon? “😛 LOL Yeah, I want everyone around me to lose weight.
And here I was aware of another fact that Labradors are prone to obesity and joint problems at a later point in life. The cause of obesity in pets is the same as that of obesity in humans: overeating and underactivity. So I decided to take care of mine and my dog's first. It started with eating together. No, not from the same bowl, stupid, but the timing had to be the same. Eat every two hours and eat healthy. So we both eat cottage cheese, cucumber, tomato and sprouts as snacks. The trick in how he helped me with my portion control was that I shared everything I ate with him. My baby craved rusks and biscuits and was always there to keep me under control. Basically, I was and still am less than 50% of what I want to eat (I'm really happy when I crave rubbish). Look at that. Can you deny something to such innocent eyes? Awww!

On this topic, it was investigated whether pet owners train better or not. Although the results said there was no particular impact on the training of pet owners, I feel that my training and walks have improved personally when I started taking him on my morning and night walks. At times when I don't feel like walking briskly, Cherub feels like running and makes sure that I run with him too. Well, whether you feel like it or not, you have to. 🙂
One thing that research also proved was that dogs made exercise more enjoyable. I can swear by my dog's cuteness factor when he hears the well-known "Leslie Sansone Beat and Voice", he can't stop himself and stands in front of me and asks about his favorite sheet, which he likes to chew on the beat. Finding its musical sense is amazing as the speed of its chewing increases and decreases with the changing beat as well. 🙂 This experience makes me want to earn extra miles just to see how he enjoys the beats. Pets are fun every morning and late evening if you take them for long walks. They will automatically make you do intervals. 🙂
In fact, my suggestion to anyone looking to lose weight is to keep a dog in your home and in the breed that specifically requires a lot of exercise. Me and my cherub are genetically prone to arthritis and bone problems, so we both support each other in staying healthy.
And just in case you don't have a dog to run, borrow one. There's no harm in walking an older neighbor's pet or training rescued dogs in a shelter. Believe me, it will upgrade your emotions as well as your weight loss efforts.
