What causes psoriasis?
According to the experts, the cause of psoriasis is one Immune system malfunction. Under normal conditions, skin cells form and are pushed to the surface and eventually die and flake off. This process takes about a month, but with psoriasis, skin cells mature and move to the surface in just 3 to 4 days. These cells don't shed and instead pile on the skin, forming the red, itchy scales. Experts also say that in a third of the cases it can also be a genetic condition. There can be various triggers for psoriasis, such as emotional stress, skin damage, infection, or a medical reaction.
