What is the difference between broccoli and broccoli rabe?

Broccoli and Broccoli Raven are similar, yet very different. Broccoli raven, also known as rapini, has thinner stems and smaller florets than broccoli and also has leafy greens.

Ingredients for Italian spring roll filling

That's in these spring rolls:

  • Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage
  • Broccoli raven
  • Shallots and garlic
  • Salt, pepper, red pepper flakes
  • White wine
  • Parmesan
  • Spring roll packaging

For these spring rolls, I fry the sausage with broccoli raven and shallots, then add garlic, salt, black and red pepper, and white wine. Then I drain the mixture and mix in the parmesan before I fill the spring rolls.

Freeze

These spring rolls can also be cooked and frozen ahead of time to have them on hand for snacks or apps.

  • Freeze uncooked spring rolls, pour into a freezer bag and close, squeezing out as much air as possible. Freeze for up to six months.
  • To cook the frozen spring rolls in the air fryer, preheat the air fryer to 320 ° F and cook for 12 to 14 minutes. Turn halfway and bake until golden brown and crispy. Serve immediately with dip, if
    desired.
  • When using the oven Bake frozen egg rolls at 350F for 25-30 minutes.

Variations:

  • Swap turkey sausage for chicken or use a flavorful Italian sausage.
  • Replace broccoli rabe with broccolini.
  • Swap the shallot for red onions.
  • Use chicken broth instead of white wine.
