What is tuna tartare?
Tuna tartare is a dish made from finely chopped raw tuna seasoned with the desired flavor profiles. You can usually find this dish as an appetizer in most high-end restaurant menus.
Tuna can be expensive in restaurants. Since home cooking is always cheaper, it makes sense to make tuna tartare that doesn't require cooking. Tuna is an excellent source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, so it's healthy too!
How to make tuna tartare
The first step is to find the freshest sushi-grade tuna. If you don't fish yourself, contact your trusted fishmonger and ask about sushi or tuna that is eaten raw.
What about us fish in sushi quality?
The Sushi Grade label means that it is the highest quality fish that the store offers and the one that they believe can be eaten raw. Tuna, for example, is checked by wholesalers and then rated. The best get a grade of 1, which is usually sold as a sushi grade. The fish should be a deep red color with no fishy odor. The tuna should be chilled or chilled and kept on ice until cooked and served.
It's best to eat it raw, fresh the day you prepare it, but it will stay in the refrigerator for up to two days.
