I will divide this topic into two parts, the first being the Satvik Diet and the second being the Kosher Diet. All of this comes from yoga. Yogis often dictate this type of diet, which includes fresh vegetables, no alcohol and of course no smoking.

The Satvik foods are those that are healthy, fresh, light, easy to digest, and soothing to the mind. You are not putting your digestive system under pressure trying to improve your fitness and general wellbeing, and if you want to do yoga regularly and show the benefits, then you need to try the Satvik Diet which is nothing more than simple vegetarian food.

The Satvik foods promote focus and clarity of mind, and you will not get sugar flare-ups or mood swings after a Satvik diet. Rice, milk, ghee, honey, beans, fresh fruits and vegetables such as carrots, bottle gourd and sprouts are considered Satvik foods. In a Satvik diet, onions, garlic, and cauliflower are said to increase tension and promote lethargy, so they should be avoided.
