Virgin Bloody Mary Recipe – .

Fancy a Bloody Mary, but a dry challenge? Make this Virgin Bloody Mary aka the Virgin Mary and you won't miss the vodka!

Virgin Bloody Mary

The Bloody Mary is one of the most popular brunch cocktails. This cocktail version is full of flavor – spicy, hearty and salty. It's perfect when you want a cocktail without alcohol. Of course, if you want to add some vodka, go for it! For more drink recipes without alcohol, try my nojito (a mojito without rum) and salpicón (a Colombian fruit drink).

I'm starting a dry challenge this month, I did one in November. Why? A few reasons:

  1. I don't want the empty calories
  2. Better sleep
  3. No hangover the next day
  4. More energy to train

That being said, I'll be sharing more cocktail recipes here. If you have any inquiries please let me know in the comments!

Are you healthy?

This cocktail is actually very nutritious! Tomato juice contains a variety of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and is high in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant with impressive health benefits.

When choosing a tomato juice, be sure to read the labels. Certain types of tomato juice can be high in sodium and contain added sugars. Look for a low-sodium tomato juice with no added fruit or sugar.

The ingredients of a virgin Bloody Mary are the same as a normal Bloody Mary without vodka.

  • Tomato juice
  • Lemon juice
  • Cucumber juice or olive juice

  • horseradish
  • Hot sauce
  • Celery seeds
  • Cayenne

To make this easy Bloody Mary recipe, combine all of the ingredients in a large jug. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to four days.

Garnish ideas:

Part of a Bloody Mary's fun are all of the ornaments. Some can be quite over the top – practically an entire meal over the drink. Here are some ideas on how to garnish your Bloody Mary:

  • Celery stalks
  • Dill pickle spears, okra or gherkins
  • Pickled green beans or asparagus
  • Green olives
  • Lemon or lime wedges
  • bacon
  • Cooked prawns

You can also have your glass rimmed with celery salt. Rub a lemon wedge over the rim of the glass, then roll the rim on a plate covered with celery salt until coated.
