Why is coconut oil good for your health?

Heyaaaa,

I started the LCHF diet a few days ago. Had few problems at first and now trying to solve them 🙂! One of my struggles is getting used to coconut oil. I'm North Indian and we never use coconut oil for cooking 🙁

As I try to get used to coconut oil, I am reminded of how good it is. So I figured I should remind everyone else too 😛 especially if you're looking to lose weight!

Coconut oil has a unique composition of fatty acids

Coconut oil has short-medium chain saturated fatty acids, i. H. MCFA, making it a healthy saturated fat. Unlike trans fats, which cause bad cholesterol and heart disease, MFCA fats are great for the human body. Our body metabolizes these fats in the liver and turns them into energy instead of storing them as fat.

Supports digestion

If you suffer from poor digestion or bloating, coconut is the solution. Coconut water helps against bloating, read about it here. Coconut oil can make bowel movements easier. Fatty acids in coconut contain antimicrobial properties that work against bacteria that disrupt digestion.

Controls sugar cravings

If you can't believe it, pinch yourself 😉 . Hold your breath before reading on. Coconut oil is known to reduce abdominal obesity. Coconut oil is easily digested and does not cause an increase in insulin in the blood. Just add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to start and gradually increase to 4 teaspoons per day.
